If you are not very familiar with America's history & founding, you will be surprised here. If you are a Christian, you will also find surprising info here too. Was American a Christian Nation, or founded on Christianity. There is a difference. Some say both. But there were 99% of people here who had Christian upbringing, worldview and culture from the countries of EU and UK empire. Whether they were like the Pilgrims, Puritans & Baptists, or if they came from religious backgrounds such as catholicism or church of England (Anglican), or were deists in a Christianish home country ruled by 1 "Christian" religion. *Noting as "religion" because the latter ones listed are not biblical and therefore not Christian. There was like 1% of the population who were also Jewish. So tho they came from the faith that Christian roots are in (Eden to Calvary), they were able to thrive here and be influenced by Christ. "Christianity" was therefore basically the religion of the country and residents/citizens/immigrants for all of Americas early generations. The American constitutional system was the first government devised by Man that was based upon Biblical principles. Its cornerstone was a belief in the evil nature of Man, which produced a conviction that no person can be trusted with power. This belief that Man’s nature is corrupted and irreparable (without being changed by the power of the Holy Spirit- at salvation). This represented a radical departure from history. Until that time, most of Mankind had always been ruled by kings who were considered to have a divine right to rule and who usually ended up ruling like they thought they were gods. On February 29, 1892, The Supreme Court declared (in Holy Trinity v. United States) that the historical record of America overwhelmingly demonstrated that the United States "... is a Christian nation." What about the 1st Amendment? Today, in America, non Christians are currently in a strange love affair with twisting history. So much so, that they claim as though the word "Religion" in the 1st Amendment stands for each and every religion of the world (just to accommodate them, mind you). However, the truth is settled very simply. The Founders could mean only the Religion practiced by the colonists and that defined the national identity of our Judeo-Christian nation. It was only biblical Christianity. Also, most nations of the world were mono-religious, and none of them claimed as though its national identity included "all religions or beliefs" of the world. It was always a singular religion. We do know within Christianity, unlike most religions in the world, there are multiple denominations or faiths. So it is not hard to conclude America had Christianity at its core and everything from laws to schools to daily life, revolved around Christianity. So in that sense, yes. They always followed Biblical teaching & principles, as did the various books and lessons. (*see samples in below links) and the morals, values and expectations of all children's behavior was raised in Christian principles and the Bible. They graduated grade 4 or 8. In this early period Americans had increased access to education and books. By the end of the period, people believed that good citizens and moral individuals could be created through education. People had learned to read, in order to read the Bible... for themselves, and become good citizens who revered God and lived properly. The people of the nation were discipled and shaped by the Bible for hundreds of years. American schools & colleges existed & began to thrive, and educate the masses, thanks to Christianity. Till roughly 1950s when atheists started to infiltrate and turn the public schools and the society into a Godless nation. (*They are responsible for this high-evil perpetuated on all 320+ million in this nation (from 1950 to 1970 and worse from 2000 until to today). Other documents The Book that made America's laws The Bible and American Law Vindiciae Contra Tyrannos, or, A Vindication Against Tyrants (1579). This Calvinist document is one of the first to set forth the theory of “social contract” upon which the United States was founded. The idea was disseminated through the English Calvinists to the pen of John Locke, and eventually into the Declaration of Independence. The First Part of the Institutes of the Laws of England, Sir Edward Coke (1628) Written by a Puritan leader of Parliament, this document was almost the only textbook for lawyers (e.g., Jefferson) during the American Colonial Period. Coke’s influence over the minds of American politicians is inestimable. Clear traces between Coke and the U.S. Constitution are apparent in this work.

The Petition of Right, Sir Edward Coke (1628). This document set forth complaints of the members of Parliament to King Charles I regarding rights of due process. Charles did not receive this complaint warmly. Should be sufficient, but later will add more here (above here) 🌟🌟 Having revealed all of that... is America run as a Christian nation? well, not really not fully. Has it and all generations here since the pilgrims arrived and the nation was founded, been blessed because of Christianity, its Bible, its worldview, values and teachings 99% of the people here back then (1500's-1930's/1990) held to, and lived out, and permeated every area of the country? Yes. Having been heavily influenced by it, it has Christianity at the core and culture.

Even SCOTUS recognized it. However, is it a Christian nation now? No. Was it run as a "Christian" nation, not exactly - not fully. Not in the sense of how a nation was ruled in the past by a religion (such as England or Israel), nor how it is still ruled in muslim religious countries, and other countries today. But having Christianity at the core for about 400 years (pre founding and since then), has blessed everyone here for all those years... and even now. Whether one realizes it or not. Here are 12 reasons why "the Christian America view is dangerous. Even though today's America is becoming increasingly more godless....yet, God is not done here. And Jesus is still saving people. Both in America, and globally. Sooner or later though, we have God's promise: Christ will come and reign on earth, over all the earth, and then the end will come.
